HONOO/Shoot Style Unification System Guide Version 2

Anton Mikhailov is HONOO's most successful submission based Wrestler, due to focus on specific limbs and how many of his submissions do not require going into the mount position.

Theory

The Wrestler

One of HONOO's most successful wrestlers is Ricky Backdrop. His style is driven by suplexes. From the very start of the match, he aims to hit them. For the most consistent results with a build like this, you may want to avoid suplexes in Small damage categories.

The Wrestler is a unique class within this system, they are allowed to do suplexes.  This is to balance out how their matches play out differently due to their inability to use strikes.

Wrestlers have the most buffs of any class, with 5 in Power, Agility, and Throw OFF,  the Finisher ability, and a 3 MMA OFF and 3 MMA DEF buff. For their CRITICAL style, either Suplex or Submission is allowed.

Creating a reliable wrestler requires careful planning.

Making A Good Wrestler

Consider the unreliability of MMA mounts. Without the solid damage-per-second output from striking, wrestlers can only wear their opponent down with less efficient methods. When few fighters have Ukemi, bigger moves have a microscopic chance of landing in the early stages of a match. However, the class is designed around how frequently mounts are reversed and a wrestler who sticks to the mat is an unpredictable but viable build. This unpredictability can be dealt with most easily by focusing on flash submission holds and easing into mounts.

  Preferred Style: Suplexes, Submissions, Takedowns.

The Wrestler cannot perform any strike.
