System Rules

Theory

Every fighter begins with 3 in all Offensive Parameters excluding MMA and Entertainment and 1 in all defense parameters. From here, they receive various buffs and debuffs. Fighters are allowed one “Specialty”. This means an offense parameter starting at 3 will start at 5 instead. MMA Offense cannot be chosen as a specialty.

Fighters gain experience with each round in increments of 0.5.

Round 1 - 0 points

Round 2 - .5 points

Round 3 - 1 point

Over 3 rounds - 2 points, the same amount a fighter gets for winning a match.

Experience is spent at the end of each tour.

Defense parameters may be raised at a rate of 5 XP -> +1 defense in any parameter besides MMA and Entertainment.

Special skills can be purchased for a hefty fee.

      Tier 1 Skills - 30 points each

Focus - Strikeback - Start Dash - Over Turn

     Tier 2 Skills - 60 points each

Warrior - Second Wind - Rage

The second type of XP is CRITICAL XP. This XP is gained by scoring CRITICALs.

The rate is

1 CRIT XP -> +1 offense

in any parameter. (once again excluding MMA and Entertainment.)

Fighter Editing Rules (The Technical Bits)

You may redistribute all points in SML Initiate Grapple if the number of moves used in each category remains the same. In the other two damage phases, percentages are edited freely but moves in Front Grapple that do not fit your fighter’s style cannot be set over 10%. Styles are detailed on individual class pages.

Movesets are fully customizable but must adhere to the moves each class is allowed to use. Assigned stomps and grounded mounts cannot be removed.

The entire skills page cannot be edited except where stated otherwise by the game mechanics. Stances cannot be changed. Priorities are allowed. Excessive taunting is illegal. For an example of the most taunting allowed, see the edit Ross Cromley (should not be more than 5 or 6 times a match).

Fighter Editing Rules (The Fluff)

Fighters can wear any gear so long as it is appropriate. "Appropriate" is a loose term and one can justify any attire they want so long as it has basis in reality.

There are some explicit rules

-Street Gear of any kind is banned

- Fighters who do closed fist punches must wear gloves

- Kickboxers must wear kickpads

Fighters of any gender may participate. No fighter over 6'8 (Giant Size) can compete. All fighters must be human with human proportions. Physically disabled fighters cannot compete. Your fighter cannot be a real person but parody/homages are fine. Racially offensive fighters (such as the recently deceased Nein Stein) are not allowed.

Match Rules

This system is designed for the SWA game mode. Normal matches are 3 rounds, at 5 minutes per round, with 3 downs allowed before TKO. Championship bouts increase this to 5 rounds, 5 minutes per round, with 5 downs allowed before TKO. In the event of a draw, matches will be judged or extended into overtime at the judges' discretion. The number of downs is reduced to 2. Rope break is turned off, and matches are typically simmed on CPU Level 4 with submission only rules so that the only methods of victory are KOs and submission.
